The Charity Shield has come and gone and although we did not see the result we craved, there’s a lot of promise with the new boys on the first post-tour match of their Chelsea careers. Hazard looked quite sprightly and his movements somewhat reminded me of Joey Cole. Meanwhile, “veteran” Torres wowed us with that cool as you like chip that saw us go in front in the first half. Brana being sent off clearly unsettled the boys somewhat, and though young Bertrand (does he still qualify as young, at age 23?) infused a bit of hope bringing us a strike away from levelling, it wasn’t meant to be for us that UK afternoon/USA morning…

Anyway, as much as I want to keep discussing the finer (and not so fine) points of the match (someone else can do that ), there’s some good news that I can share: we had our first Los Angeles Chelsea Blues meetup for the 2012-13 term! And, despite the 5:30AM kick-off time, we had more than a handful of people show up (I was expecting 4 people there LOL). The pub was ours for the taking (I counted one or two Citeh supporters, and another another neutral, not including Mr. Raoul the Barkeep). So not everyone wanted to have their photo taken but here are the virgin attendees of an LA Chelsea Blues meetup!
